Team Description:
We are the under 15s Titans and we play in the Mid Cheshire Youth League Division 2.
Many of our team started playing football together at Primary school and we formed as a team at under 8s where we experienced our first success winning our first trophy. As the team has developed and grown, several more fantastic players have joined us through the last few years. We now have a great bunch who make up our team from several of the high schools in Macclesfield all forming close friendship bonds and we have been fortunate to taste success on a few more occasions.
We originally played in the Stockport Metro league but moved to the Mid Cheshire league where we were promoted from Division 3 to Division 2. The Mid Cheshire league is extremely competitive and most of our games normally finish with the odd goal separating the teams.
Our team sponsor is Macclesfield Tutorial who have supported the team for many years.
Our football ethos is to play football the right way, we coach the team to get the ball down on the grass and pass it. In our league, lumping it forward in the style of Niall Quinn and Kevin Phillips doesn’t work, smashing it from the half way line like David Beckham doesn’t work, trying to take all of the opposition on and scoring like Maradona doesn’t work, unfortunately the opposition are better defenders than Peter Reid and Terry Fenwick!
The team have also toured Europe twice in the last two years, beating the Dutch at their own game and on their own turf! Two years, six games and we remain unbeaten in Europe and are looking forward to our third tour this year. We have been fortunate to watch games at PSV Eindhoven in Holland and Gent in Belgium, a great experience for the team.
Beyond the football pitch, we have a strong group of supporters (mainly parents and grandparents) who follow us no matter the weather, including into Europe where the jovialities have been the catalyst for several chapters of the debut novel of one of our talented parents.
